Tour description

Join us for this full day excursion. Explore the heart of Naples and the inestimable treasures from the archaeological sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum preserved in the National Archaeological Museum of Naples.
Naples has always been one of the meeting places for the Mediterranean’s various cultures. We will take you to visit some of the city’s most beautiful churches and to admire the most enchanting views of the gulf of Naples, over which looms the mighty Vesuvius.
Together we will discover the magnificence of the Basilica di Santa Chiara and the baroque splendor of the Gesù Nuovo church. One will experience an essential ritual in the life of every Neapolitan: the espresso break. You will get to taste the real tradition of Neapolitan espresso in one of the city center’s most distinctive coffee bars. With our expert guides you will be able to discover the magic of the city’s narrow streets and be captivated by the artistry with which the artisans have been producing their famous nativities and figurines for hundreds of years.
The National Archaeological Museum of Naples is a real and true treasure trove of masterpieces found at the Vesuvian archaeological sites over the last centuries. Everyday Roman items like kitchen utensils, surgical tools, gold and silver make the Naples Archaeological Museum one of the world’s most important museums for the understanding of the civilization and daily life of the Roman Empire. The building also hosts the collection of Herculaneum papyrus, the world’s only example of books which have survived over two-thousand years. Moreover, one can admire the celebrated “Farnese collection”, an incredible set of marble statues that Charles of Bourbon wanted to bring to Naples when he was crowned.
